MINNESOTA WILD ANNOUNCES 2018-19 REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE
SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Wild's 2018-19 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season schedule was released today. The Wild opens the season in Colorado on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m. CT. Minnesota returns to Saint Paul for its home opener at Xcel Energy Center on Saturday, Oct. 6, hosting the Western Conference champion Vegas Golden Knights at 7 p.m. Minnesota plays seven of its first 10 games of the season on home ice (Oct. 4-27) before hitting the road for a seven-game road trip - the longest road trip in franchise history (Oct. 29-Nov. 11).
The 2018-19 schedule consists of 82 games - 41 at Xcel Energy Center and 41 road contests. The Wild's home schedule features 18 weekend games (two on Friday, 12 on Saturday and four on Sunday). Most evening games at Xcel Energy Center will begin at 7 p.m.
Minnesota will play 26 games against Central Division opponents, including four games each (two home, two road) against Chicago, Colorado, Nashville and St. Louis. The Wild will play five games against Dallas (two home, three road) and Winnipeg (three home, two road).
The Wild will also play three games against each team in the Pacific Division for a total of 24 games: Anaheim (two home, one road), Arizona (two home, one road), Calgary (one home, two road), Edmonton (one home, two road), Los Angeles (two home, one road), San Jose (two home, one road), Vancouver (one home, two road) and Vegas (one home, two road). The Wild will make its second-ever trip to Las Vegas on Monday, Jan. 21 and make a final visit of the season on Friday, March 29.
Minnesota will play each team in the Eastern Conference twice (one home, one road) for a total of 32 contests.Popular Eastern Conference visits to Xcel Energy Center include defending Stanley Cup champion Washington (Nov. 13), Detroit (Jan. 12), New York Rangers (March 16) and Pittsburgh (Dec. 31). The 2019 NHL All-Star Game will take place on Jan. 26 at SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.
