Minnesota Ski and Snowboard Expo returns to Mall of America® to break a world record
WHAT:
Snow is merely weeks away in Minnesota. Those most excited are not reaching for shovels and ice picks, but snowboards and ski poles. Minnesota Ski and Snowboard Expo will return to Mall of America® to celebrate winter in Minnesota.
Keystone Resort, one of the largest family ski resorts in Colorado, leads the ski industry with the simplest Kids Ski Free offer. Since their program has the fewest hoops to jump through, the resort will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Most People Dancing with Hula Hoops in the North Parking Lot on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 8 a.m. More than 700 local skiers and snowboarders will be present in hopes to break the record.
Other Expo activities will include:
- World-famous Skyriders! Team of Olympic, national and international freestyle skiing and trampoline champions will showcase their aerial trampoline routine in the Rotunda at noon, 2, 4, 6 and 8 p.m. throughout the weekend.
- Two-time Olympian and Minnesota native, Kaylin Richardson will host the hula hoop record-breaking as well as signing autographs at the Afton Alps booth on Level 1, East.
- Guests will receive discounts on lift tickets and ski and snowboard lessons at both local and western ski areas, while admiring the latest styles and technology in ski and snowboard equipment.
