Minnesota Dance Theatre returns to the Cowles Center to present
New and Signature works and a World Premiere
Minneapolis, MN Minnesota Dance Theatre introduces the choreography of acclaimed dancers Martine Van Hamel, (American Ballet Theatre) and Adam Hendrickson, (New York City Ballet) to Twin Cities audiences. Embracing contemporary aesthetics through the art of the Pas de Deux, Van Hamels lyrical Trio á Deux, set to Beethovens String Trio in G Major, balances Hendricksons quick paced duet Prestissimo, to Verdis String Quartet in E Minor. Also in the program will be Toccata in D Minor by Alonzo King (LINES Ballet), as well as signature Pas de Deux by MDT founder Loyce Houlton.
The evening will also present a World Premiere by Artistic Director Lise Houlton. Wheres the mystery in ordinary? Distinctly MDT, the dancers play in moods of containment in Frames/d, an ensemble piece to the music of Mozart, mostly.
