MDA Muscle Walk to host more than 3,000 participants at
Mall of America®
WHAT: More than 3,000 people are expected at Mall of America® for the third annual Minnesota Muscle Walk hosted by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) on Saturday, March 8.
The event will help pay tribute to local children and adults living with one of the more than 40 types of diseases classified under muscular dystrophy (MD) and raise funds to support global research for MD and other related diseases, including ALS. The Minnesota Muscle Walk hopes to raise $250,000 this year.
The event will feature CrossFit demos by CrossFit Twin Cities, kids hair and face painting, a banner-making station and appearances by local sport mascot favorites like Goldy Gopher and Nordy from the Minnesota Wild.
MD is a group of inherited diseases in which the muscles that control movement progressively weaken. Sadly, in most cases, the disease is terminal.
The MDA is the worlds leading nonprofit health agency dedicated to finding treatments and cures for MD by funding worldwide research, comprehensive health care services and support to MDA families nationwide.
