Mayor Hodges: Governors Nicollet Mall Bonding Proposal Will Help Grow Minneapolis and Minnesota
January 15, 2014 (MINNEAPOLIS) Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges released the following statement about Governor Mark Daytons bonding proposal:
Governor Daytons proposal for $20 million in bonding for the Nicollet Mall redesign is a strong start for this $53-million project that will help grow Minneapolis, our region and our state. Nicollet Mall is the economic heart of Minnesota: it is home to Fortune 500 companies, major retail, more than 100,000 employees and millions of visitors a year, all of whom pump millions of dollars into Minnesota's economy every day.
We look forward to working with Governor Dayton, legislative leaders, Chairs Hausman and Stumpf, and the downtown Minneapolis and regional business communities to bring this critically important project for our entire state to full fruition.
