Mall of America® to host second annual runway fashion show featuring designers from “Project Runway”

Celebrate fall fashion at the Mall of America on October 7th
Bloomingtom, Minn. (September 16, 2016) – Mall of America® is celebrating fall fashion with a star-studded runway show featuring designers from the hit reality show “Project Runway” on Friday, Oct. 7 in the Rotunda.
The second annual Curated Style: Straight from the Runway fashion show will feature five women’s collections and two men’s collections. Designers will include:
- Christopher Straub (Season 6)
Straub, local to Minnesota, won the nation’s heart as the fan-favorite fashion designer from Season 6 of “Project Runway.” Following his appearance on the television show, he’s continued to design apparel, handbags, fashion accessories and home décor. Inspired by the elemental, Christopher’s signature is photo-realistic prints and whimsical design.
- Joshua Christensen (Season 9)
Christensen was a contestant on Season 6 of “Project Runway.” He has been designing in the Los Angeles market for over six years, working as a designer for Guess Inc. and dressing top celebrities. Joshua is currently working on new labels both personal and for other companies.
- Michelle Lesniak (Season 11)
Lesniak was the winner of Season 11 of “Project Runway.” Her motto is “fashion with a purpose.” The self-proclaimed, professional rule breaker now focuses on small production and emotive clothing inspired by her unique personal style she found in thrift and vintage stores.
- Layana Aguilar (Season 11)
Aguilar was a contestant and finalist on Season 11 of “Project Runway.” She differentiates herself by blending her experiences from living in New York City with her native Brazilian Culture. Layana created a label that celebrates womanhood, combining sophistication and comfort.
- Kate Pankoke (Season 11 + 12)
Pankoke was a contestant on Season 11 of “Project Runway” and was brought back by a fan vote to compete on Season 12. She then followed up as a contestant on Season 4 of “Project Runway All Stars.” Pankoke launched Elaya Vaughn Bridal by Kate Pankoke in 2011 and showed her first ready-to-wear collection at Lincoln Center during Mercedes-Benz Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion Week.
- Sean Kelly (Season 13)
Kelly was the winner of Season 13 of “Project Runway.” The New Zealand born designer focuses his work on exploring performance art and textile development with a clean aesthetic. Sean has worked for international design houses such as Alexander McQueen and has shown at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York.
- Kini Zamora (Season 13)
Zamora was a contestant and finalist on Season 13 of “Project Runway.” A third generation seamstress, he has viewed his world through the eye of a sewing needle since age 10. Zamora is most in tune with his design and inspirations when he is home in Hawaii.
