Mall of America^® to host the 2014 Minnesota Kendama Open

WHAT: Pro Kendama players from around the world will compete head-to-head at the 2014 Minnesota Kendama Open at Mall of America on Saturday, Nov. 1 in the Rotunda.

Originating in Japan about 150 years ago, Kendama is a wooden skill toy that consists of three separate pieces of wood and is assembled into the final product with friction and a string.

On Saturday, contestants from around the world will be vying for the title of Minnesota Kendama Open champion. Players can compete in beginner, intermediate or open brackets.

Sponsor of the event, Sweets Kendama, is a custom Kendama company based out of Bloomington, MN that hand-paints, assembles and packages every Sweets Kendama. They are constantly developing new designs and methods of production and attempting to create and learn new Kendama tricks every day.
