Fox Sports North to Televise Eight Games; BOB 106 to Broadcast All 34 Games

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL The Minnesota Lynx today announced the teams local broadcast partners for the upcoming 2012 WNBA season. Entering its 14th consecutive season of broadcasting Lynx games, Fox Sports North will televise eight games this summer, while BOB 106 will carry all regular season and postseason Lynx games on radio.

We are very appreciative of everything our partners do for us, said Lynx Executive Vice President Roger Griffith. FS North and BOB 106 have done a great job ensuring our fans have the opportunity to follow our organization throughout the entire season either on television or over the radio.

FS North begins its eight-game broadcast schedule with Minnesotas matchup with Sue Bird and the Seattle Storm on Sunday, May 27 at 6 p.m. Other highlights of the FS North broadcast schedule include visits from Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury on June 27, Tina Charles and the Connecticut Sun on July 7 and a rematch of last seasons WNBA Finals with the Atlanta Dream on September 7. Marney Gellner will act as the teams play-by-play announcer, while Lea B. Olsen and Kevin Lynch will split analyst duties.

BOB 106 will be broadcasting their seventh consecutive season as the Minnesota Lynx Radio Partner. All 34 regular-season and any potential post-season games will be broadcast live over the air on both KLCI 106.1 and KDDG 105.5 FM. In addition, KBGY 107.5 and WLKX 95.9 FM will broadcast 29 games this season. Lynx play-by-play announcer Alan Horton will call all home games, while executive producer John Focke will serve as the voice of the Lynx on the road.

The 2011 WNBA Champion Lynx will kick off their title defense with the team's Home Opener, presented by General Mills, on Sunday, May 20 at 11:30 a.m. at Target Center against the Phoenix Mercury on ABC.
