Hell's Kitchen and Angel Food Bakery now delivering throughout Twin Cities

Hells Kitchen, one of the Twin Cities most-booked restaurants, and Angel Food Bakery & Coffee Bar, its new bakery which has already attracted Food Network attention, are bothnow delivering damn good food and divine sweets throughout the metro area.
"It's kind of like a perfect storm, explained Tony Perella, General Manager at Hell's Kitchen. "Hotels have asked for years if we'd consider delivering to their guests, and now with the new bakery, requests from offices have soared. At the same time, we finally found a reliable, affordable delivery service, so it all just came together."
Jodelle Gerdes, Angel Food's Manager, initially underestimated the demand. "While we expected folks to order for meetings, we were pleasantly surprised at how quickly things took off." The bakery now has standing orders for cupcakes, donuts and pastries delivered fresh to offices, especially on Fridays. "That's our biggest day by far, which nicely balances our weekend deliveries to weddings and churches." Next month, Angel Food will start delivering "Divinity Donuts" for churches to sell to congregants between Sunday services as fundraisers.
How far will Rock-It Delivery go? "To hell and highwater," laughed Perella. "Uptown, Downtown, the University area, even St. Paul. Folks used to have to order from restaurants in their neighborhoods, but with Rock-It, it's become a real game changer." According to Gerdes, the bakery's biggest delivery so far was to the Minneapolis Arts Institutes for a huge art installation of more than 300 donuts during their annual fundraiser.

Unlike the restaurant, which starts cooking orders the minute they're received, the bakery request orders 24 hours in advance. "I wish we could wave our wands and bake cupcakes in 11 minutes," Gerdes said wistfully, "but office administrators, already highly organized, have been perfectly happy hopping online to see what we offer and then calling us for their next-day meetings." Established in 2002, Hell's Kitchen, locally grown and fiercely independent, is celebrating a decade in business by offering a year-long series of special events. Opening the sparkling bakeryjust above the underground restaurant was the crown jewel for the 10th Anniversary celebration.
