Gorgui Dieng to Receive KIA Western Conference Rookie of the Month Trophy for March Prior to Friday Night's Game

Info: The NBA named Gorgui Dieng the Western Conference Rookie of the Month for the month of March on Apr. 1, becoming the fifth player in franchise history to earn the award (Rubio in Jan. 2012, Love in Mar. 2009, Foye in Dec. 2006 and Marbury in Jan. 1997).

Dieng averaged 8.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game during the month, including averaging 12.1 points on 64.5% shooting and 12.0 rebounds during March's last nine contests. He made his first career start on Mar. 16, tallying 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks to become the first player since Elden Campbell in 1991 to record 10+ points, 10+ rebounds and 5+ blocks in their first NBA start.

He followed that game with a 22-point, 21-rebound performance two games later against Houston, becoming just the fifth player in franchise history to record a 20+ point, 20+ rebound game and just the sixth player since 1970 to record such a game within his first three career starts.
