Giving back to those who give so generously, Mall of America® celebrates Caregiver Appreciation Day
WHAT: One in six adults provide regular care to a friend or family member with a health problem or disability. Mall of America®, in partnership with the White Dove Foundation, will celebrate Caregiver Appreciation Day on Sunday, Nov. 23.
November is National Caregivers Month, recognizing those who selflessly give their time, energy and resources without expecting anything in return. Caregiver Appreciation Day celebrates their generosity and dedication.
Caregiver Appreciation Day kicks off at Mall of America with a Walk for Caregivers at 8 a.m., followed by an interfaith service in Nickelodeon Universe at 9:15 a.m. The festivities continue throughout the day in the Rotunda with an Appreciation and Awareness event featuring musical performances and resources for caregivers from AARP, Wilder Foundation, CaringBridge, LLS and Alzheimers Association Minnesota-North Dakota chapter.
National Caregivers Day is presented by the White Dove Foundation. Founded by John and Beth Chaya, the White Dove Foundation is a humanitarian organization based in Minnesota. John Chaya has an English bulldog named Major, who helped him through a cancer diagnosis.
