No matter what people say, bigger is always better especially when were talking heavy metal. And heavy metal doesnt get much bigger than Fozzy.
The band is the brainchild of Rich Ward and Chris Jericho, two larger-than-life, trailblazing personalities that have spent the past decade shaping their own brand of sonic splendor, Wards incendiary guitars forging a path for Jerichos inimitable vocals atop a rhythmic foundation of earth-rattling proportions.
Not that anybody should be surprised. Ward is one of metals pioneers the mastermind of Stuck Mojo, he soldered metal with rhythmic rap vocals long before it became fashionable, touring the world with some of metals biggest bands and being hailed as one of both Pantera legend Dimebag Darrell and BLS/Ozzy axeman Zakk Wyldes favorite guitarists. And frontmen dont come more dynamic than Chris Jericho, one of pro wrestlings biggest superstars, the embodiment of charisma, and the byproduct of lifetime spent immersed in heavy metal.
Enter Chasing the Grail. Released in 2010, the bands fourth studio album debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and shows just how much musical ground Fozzy have conquered since the release of their first single in 2000, a faithful cover of the Krokus classic Eat the Rich. The latest recordings are Fozzy in their full metal glory, 12 tracks (including radio hits Martyr No More and Broken Soul) of the most powerful music North America has to offer, capturing the bands powerhouse fusion of genres - power metal roots bleeding with progressive style and a classic feel.
Look no further than Let the Madness Begin, which was the most-downloaded single on Amazon from Feb. 22 March 10, 2010. The track has helped drive Fozzy to new heights in the metal world, where they appeared alongside metals Big 4 Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax at the Knebworth Sonisphere festival July 10, 2011, and were awarded a marquee, show-opening performance at the 2011 Revolver Golden Gods Awards, where Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl called them to the stage, and where Jericho remained to host the nights festivities.
Fozzy have emerged as a worldwide force on the touring circuit, conquering stages from Los Angeles to Lichtenvoorde, and everywhere in between. And after their successful string of dates on the 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR festival, their live assault has been captured on new release Remains Alive and issued throughout Europe in July 2011 by earMUSIC. The 2-disc collectors package includes an Australian headlining concert recorded in 2005, as well as Chasing the Grail as a bonus disc.
Having spent the past decade sharing Jerichos attention with his iconic professional wrestling career, the band is now the subject of the six-time WWE wrestling champions undivided focus, even earning the spotlight in Undisputed, his second New York Times best-selling book, and first to crack the Top 10, peaking at No. 8.
Jericho and Ward have combined to sell more than 1.2 million records in their heralded careers , but those numbers are a fraction of the audience Fozzy were introduced to when their frontman made the Top 6 as a contestant on season 10 of Dancing with the Stars one of the biggest television shows in the world.
Fozzy conquered prime time now its time to conquer the world of heavy metal.
Let the madness begin
