FIRST AVENUE WEEKLY PRESS RELEASE: Vince Staples, L7, Trampled by Turtles, and more
Vince Staples returns to First Avenue’s Mainroom on Monday, March 5; less than a year since his last electric Mainroom performance. His 2017 album, Big Fish Theory, hadn’t been released when we saw him last—he returns with a Kendrick collab on the Black Panther soundtrack. Tickets are on sale now.
L7 are having a comeback, releasing a new track, "Dispatch from Mar-a-Lago" last year, and another, “I Came Back To Bitch,” just last week. Since reuniting in 2015, the band has toured and played festival gigs, and are now heading to the Twin Cities for a show at First Avenue on Thursday, April 19.
Trampled by Turtles announced back-to-back shows at the Palace Theatre, in anticipation of their new album, Life Is Good On The Open Road. The Duluth natives welcome The Pines as special guests for their Friday, May 4 show, and Frankie Lee on Saturday, May 5. Tickets are on sale Wednesday, February 14 at 10:00 a.m.
Featured Show(s):
Galactic Empire, the heavy metal Star Wars cover band, takes the First Avenue Mainroom stage with Mac Sabbath, the fast-food heavy metal (read Black Sabbath) tribute band this Sunday, February 18. A truly mesmerizing experience, the show must be seen to be believed.
