Holiday Gifts from the Farm - Felted Ornaments
Thursday, November 14, from 4:30-6 p.m., at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista. Just in time for the holidays! Drop off your child to craft handmade gifts with materials from Gale Woods Farm. Stations will be guided by staff and volunteers, but the special touches will be made by your child to share with family or friends for the holidays. Each session will take time to meet the animals and visit the farm. Materials are included in the program fee. Cost is $20 and reservations are required by the Sunday prior to the event. Sheep to Slippers or Mittens
Saturday, November 16, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista. Create a wearable felted project with wool from Gale Woods sheep. Meet the sheep, learn how to process wool, and make a pair of warm, durable, felted slippers or mittens. Materials are included in the program fee. Cost is $60 and reservations are required by November 12. This program is for ages 12+. Reference activity number #437425-06.
Spinning with a Drop Spindle
Saturday, November 16, from 1-4 p.m., at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista. Learn to spin using the most ancient spinning tool the drop spindle. Wendy Johnson of Saga Hills Design will teach a simple way to hand spin using Gale Woods wool. Cost includes all supplies, including a drop spindle that you take home. Cost is $40 and reservations are required by November 12. This program is for ages 12+. Reference activity number #437425-07
