The Cowles Center for Dance & The Performing Arts presents the 7th Annual Groundbreaker Battle
Featuring a crew vs. crew break dancing competition, workshops, and performance by Ill Chemistry

Minneapolis, MN (July 13, 2015) The Cowles Center for Dance & The Performing Arts is hosting the 7th Annual Groundbreaker Battle on Saturday, August 15 from Noon 8:00pm. The daylong family friendly event highlights the MSP local breaking crews along with crews competing from all over the nation. Be a part of the action as crew vs. crew battle in hopes of winning one of three cash prizes. Judges have been selected from around the nation: B-Girl Vanicia (Nashville), B-Boy Float (Boston) and Red Bull sponsored B-Boy Easy Roc (L.A.) to determine the winning crew!
There will be Hip Hop and Beat-boxing workshops, an interactive graffiti installation with Juxtaposition Arts, community vendors, raffles, and performances by Ill Chemistry and the House of Dance youth group, even a special appearance from the Timberwolves Pup Crew. This event is sponsored by the Minnesota Twins, Red Bull, and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 7th Annual Groundbreaker Battle will be held in the Butler Square parking lot on the North side of The Cowles Center.
Since its inception, Groundbreaker Battle has been a staple event in the MSP Hip Hop community. It is a platform through which local and regional crews can come together to celebrate Hip Hop artistry, community, and culture in a fun, friendly, and challenging environment.
