MINNEAPOLISJim Gaffigan, the Grammy-nominated comedian, New York Times best-selling author, top touring performer and soon-to-be star of The Jim Gaffigan Show will perform two shows at the State Theatre at 7 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, November 67, 2015. Gaffigan stops in Minneapolis as part of CONTAGIOUS, his latest national tour showcasing his signature and hilarious mix of stand-up material. Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 1. Known for his clever, quiet style, Gaffigan is a multi-platinum selling, father of five. His inventive commentary on food topics, such as Hot Pockets and McDonalds, has helped make him one of the top five most successful touring comedians in the country today. This July 2015, he begins a new role as executive producer and star of The Jim Gaffigan Show, which will debut on TV Land and Comedy Central. Inspired by Gaffigans real life, The Jim Gaffigan Show explores one man's struggle to find a balance between fatherhood, stand-up comedy and an insatiable appetite.
Gaffigan has gained fans and acclaim with comedy specials including Beyond the Pale, King Baby and Mr. Universe. His fourth, hour-long special, Obsessed, premiered on Comedy Central in 2014 and hit Number One on iTunes, giving the stand-up artist five albums in the Top 25 Comedy category. Obsessed also earned a nomination for Best Comedy Album of the Year at the 2015 Grammy Awards.
In 2013, Gaffigans first book, Dad is Fat, was released by Crown Publishing, debuted at Number 5 on the New York Times Bestseller List and remained on the list for 17 weeks. His second book, Food: A Love Story was released in 2014 and debuted at Number 3 on the New York Times Bestseller List.
Gaffigan has made an unprecedented number of appearances on late night TV including The Late Show with David Letterman and Conan OBrien. His writing and voice work on the animated series Pale Force earned nominations for both a Broadband Emmy and a Webby Award. Gaffigan has also had guest appearances on many TV comedies and dramas ranging from Portlandia and HBO cult hits Flight of the Concords and Bored to Death, to dramatic roles in all three versions of Law & Order. He starred recently in the movie The Experimenter which debuted at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.

Jim Gaffigan performs live at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 6, and at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 7 (age 18 and over) at the State Theatre (805 Hennepin Ave., Mpls., MN 55402).
