Saint Paul, Minn., June 24, 2013 -- Under the big top, over the rainbowand definitely not in Kansas anymore. This summer, Circus Juventas lands smack in the middle of east meets west, north meets south. A Cirque du Soleil-inspired fantasy awaits, including an emerald-green city guarded by zany gatekeepers. Experience the wrath of wicked witches as they descend in a spinning cube, gravity-defying castle guards leaping the keep, the boundless spectacle of aerial monkey attacks on the wall trampoline, the Tin Man spinning on a Cyr Wheel and most wondrous of all: a wizard to remind us that there is no place like home.
Every summer show brings new acts and apparatus. This year there is the new "Maison" Trapeze -- a house-shaped, one-of-a-kind, steel aerial apparatus designed and built specifically for Circus Juventas. In collaboration with Artistic Director Betty Butler, the new piece of circus equipment has been constructed to replicate to Dorothy's Kansas house as seen in the movie version of The Wizard of Oz. The trapeze can accommodate three performers and an additional triangle trapeze, which hangs below the house, creates an astonishing spectacle in Circus Juventas center ring! Other new acts in 2013 include the spinning cube, aerial chairs, and the aerial bubble all aerial acts shaped exactly like the items in their names.
Tickets for all 21 performances go on sale Monday, July 1 and will be available through Ticketworks at www.ticketworks.com or 612-343-3390 or by calling the Circus Juventas box office at 651-699-8229. All seats are reserved. An extra performance has been added to accommodate the demand for tickets.

Circus Juventas summer shows, featuring the schools advanced students, are elaborate spectacles in the tradition of Cirque du Soleil. Circus Juventas productions represent the best of contemporary circus arts, combining evocative music, extraordinary sets and costumes, and stunning theatricality, dance and athletic artistry with a global flair. OZ is sponsored by Cirque du Soleil, Clear Channel Outdoor, Minnesota State Arts Board, Target, Star Tribune, Starbucks, Noodles & Company, McCarthy/Bjorkland Foundation and Ruehling Associates.
Circus Juventas is a non-profit youth performing arts circus school based in Saint Paul. Circus Juventas offers an array of circus arts training and performance opportunities to children and youth up to age 21. Its mission is to inspire artistry and self-confidence through a multi-cultural circus arts experience. Students learn acrobatics, balance, aerial techniques, juggling and theatrical skills in a safe and noncompetitive environment. The focus is on discipline, hard work, and respect for their peers and themselves.
