Chapel of Love at Mall of America® to perform first same sex wedding
WHAT: For the first time ever, Chapel of Love in Mall of America® will perform a same sex wedding in honor of the recent same sex marriage bill that passed the Minnesota senate on Monday, May 13, 2013.
On Thursday, August 1 at 12:01 a.m., Holli Bartelt and Amy Petrich of Wykoff, Minn. will commemorate the first same sex marriage in the history of Chapel of Love and Mall of America.
The couple has been together for two years and recently became engaged in a photo booth at Mall of America. They will celebrate their special ceremony with Bartelts two children, ages 9 and 10, who will dress in blue and orange, the colors used to represent marriage equality.
Additionally, Bartelt and Petrich will enjoy twelve dozen cupcakes from Cupcake on their wedding day as a prize from a video contest they entered hosted by Cupcake to honor marriage equality in Minnesota.
