The 2016 series marks the beginning of CDT’s fourth concert season. Vice President Tamara Kangas Erickson stated, “The concert series has developed into everything we’d hoped for. Each year we’re adding more dates to accommodate customer demand. Now that many guests have experienced the concerts and we've established a solid fan base, many events end up as sellouts.” Kangas-Erickson curates the series especially for CDT audiences. She continued, “This series has many exciting new concerts as well as several audience favorites we’ll repeat.”
Among Minnesota’s guest musical artists, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres is a preferred venue to play. This past year CDT invested in a new, state-of-the-art sound system designed specifically for the Fireside as a concert venue. The components of the world-class system came from France and England. They were installed by music industry professional, Peter Greenlund, who has worked with national and international tours for artists including Prince, Phil Collins, Willie Nelson and many others. Greenlund has 30 years of experience designing and mastering sound and installing systems into a variety of venues including theatres, concerts halls, clubs and churches. Greenlund stated, “The Fireside has become my favorite of all local venues. Between the warm acoustics of the room and the attentive audiences, it’s simply a wonderful space for listening to really good music.”
Kangas-Erickson stated, “Upgrading to L’acoustics was the next logical step for us as we build our reputation as a preferred concert venue. The system ensures quality sound coverage throughout the space. Minnesota’s best talent deserves to be heard in the best way possible from every seat, and our audiences notice a difference.”
Offering dinner prior to concerts continues to be appealing with 75% of guests adding that option. In addition, many guests arrived early or stayed after to enjoy Brindisi’s Pub, which offers service seven days a week from 11:30am to close.
CDT President Michael Brindisi added, “Every time we host concert events there is a fantastic energy throughout our building that adds to the excitement.”
The second half of the series will be announced in February 2016. Tickets for the 2016 Concert Series are now on sale.
