Business leaders, City officials and the public will gather to celebrate the official opening of the new Nicollet. The reconstructed street in the heart of downtown Minneapolis designed by James Corner Field Operations showcases a more modern, durable and elegant street with several new pedestrian amenities, including the largest display of public artwork outside of the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, twice the amount of greening with nearly 250 new trees and new LED lighting.

The funding for the public/private partnership includes $25 million in downtown property assessments, $21.5 million in state bonding and $3.5 million from the City of Minneapolis.
