CANstruction Sculpture Competition Beginning this Weekend at the Mall of America
Annual CANSTRUCTION sculpture competition to help raise awareness + donations in the fight to end hunger at Mall of America®
Bloomington, Minn. (Sept. 23, 2016)
WHAT: Colossal structures made completely of canned goods will fill the Rotunda in Mall of America® for Canstruction® beginning Saturday, Sept. 23 through Monday, Sept. 26.
The competition will highlight the creativity and compassion of local architectural and engineering firms using their skills to design and build sculptures and display them to the public.
At the close of the event, all cans of food used to make the sculptures will be donated to Second Harvest Heartland. Monetary donations are welcomed at the event.
Canstruction has raised nearly 30 million pounds of food across 150 cities worldwide through these exhibitions since 1992.
Canstruction is a national nonprofit committed to ending hunger by lifting the spirits of those in need, raising public awareness, and most importantly, by collecting millions of pounds of food for Second Harvest Heartland.
