Thomas, the multiple Grammy Award-winning vocalist with a career spanning nearly five decades and bridging the worlds of pop, country and gospel, will play Hennepin Theatre Trusts Pantages Theatre with his band at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013. Ranked in Billboards Top 50 most played artists over the past 50 years, he just released his new CD, The Living Room Sessions, in April featuring his hits performed by such guests as Vince Gill, Lyle Lovett and Richard Marx. Raised in Texas, B.J. Thomas first shot to fame in 1966 when his version of the Hank Williams standard Im So Lonesome I Could Cry became an immediate hit and reached #8 on the pop charts. He followed it with the gold single Hooked On A Feeling in 1968 and scored a big success with Burt Bacharach and Hal Davids Raindrops Keep Fallin On My Head, showcased in the 1969 movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

He won four Grammy Awards for Best Inspirational Performance in 1977, 1978, 1979 and 1981 and also one for Best Gospel Performance in 1980. In 1985, he recorded As Long As We Got Each Other, the theme song from the ABC television series Growing Pains, with Jennifer Warnes. The Living Room Sessions, his new debut album for Wrinkled Records, features intimate acoustic re-imaginings of twelve of his most renowned songs with guest artists including Vince Gill (I Just Cant Help Believing), Lyle Lovett (Raindrops Keep Fallin On My Head) and Richard Marx (Hey Wont You Play Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song). It also features four solo performances by Thomas, who continues to tour internationally.
