RETURNS TO TARGET CENTER ON MAY 16

FOR 10TH SHOW IN ARENAS 25 YEAR HISTORY

Minneapolis, MN (December 11, 2014) Target Center announced today that Billy Joel will perform one show in Minneapolis on Saturday, May 16, 2015. This concert marks Joels first solo appearance at the arena since 1999.

Billy Joel is a true music legend and an artist who has played a huge role in Target Centers history, said Steve Mattson, Vice President and General Manager Target Center/AEG Facilities. He helped put this arena on the map by selling out 4 shows in November 1990. We are so excited to be heading into our 25th year with such an iconic performer highlighting on our event calendar!

The May 2015 Minneapolis concert will mark Billy Joels 10th performance at Target Center. Joel has sold over 171,000 tickets to date at the arena.

Billy Joel is one of the highest grossing international touring artists. Having sold over 150 million albums globally, his music has remained among the most popular in the world. The singer/songwriter/composer is the sixth best-selling recording artist and the third best-selling solo artist of all time.

Joel has received six GRAMMY® Awards, including the prestigious Grammy Legend Award. He has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has received numerous industry awards. His music has also served as the inspiration and score for the hit Tony Award-winning Broadway play Movin Out.

Tickets for the May 16th Target Center show go on sale to the general public beginning at 10am on Friday, December 19th at Target Centers box office, online at AXS.com and charge by phone at 1-888-9-AXS-TIX.
