Benefit for Courage Center Foundation to be held Sunday, June 2
The inaugural 10,000 Lakes Concours dElegance will be a gathering of rare and impeccably preserved automobiles displayed along the shores of Lake Minnetonka in Excelsior, Minn. on Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
French for Competition of Elegance, the Concours dElegance will showcase automobiles selected from a field of applicants for their authenticity, beauty and style. From the pre-1924 Brass/Antique Era to pre-1974 Foreign Cars; Treasured Classics and Popular Collectables from the 20s, 30s and 40s, to American Production cars from the 50s, 60s and early 70s; more than 100 collectible autos will grace the Excelsior Commons.
A sampling of the classic beauties to be on display include a 1909 Ford Model T, a 1913 Hudson, a 1924 Packard, a 1925 Bentley, a 1931 Marmon V16 (from Long Beach, Calif.), a 1937 Cord, a 1954 Jaguar, a 1956 Dodge La Femme, a 1959 BMW Isetta, and a 1967 Alfa Romeo.
In addition to viewing one-of-a-kind, rarely seen automobiles and meeting their owners, guests will have an opportunity to enjoy local cuisine and live musical entertainment. The hosts of the day are John Birge and Michael Barone of Minnesota Public Radio.
Ive participated in Concours events across the country. I wanted to bring one home and share the true Minnesota lake-side experience with automotive owners from around the nation, says Randy Guyer, Chairman of the event.
The event will benefit the Courage Center Foundation, a Minnesota-based charitable organization supporting rehabilitation programs and resources.
Tickets may be purchased online at 10000lakesconcours.com or at event sponsor locations: BMW of Minnetonka, JB Hudson Jewelers in downtown Minneapolis, Distinctive Homes Coldwell Banker Burnet Minnetonka, as well as Jake OConnors Public House and Garys First Class Car Care in Excelsior. Cost for tickets is $20 in advance and $25 on event day. Kids 12 and under as well as active members of the military will receive free admission to the show. All event tickets include complimentary off-site parking with shuttle service and a commemorative program.
