AUDRA MCDONALD PERFORMS WITH THE MINNESOTA ORCHESTRA, July 13
Tony-winning soprano Audra McDonald performs a concert with the Minnesota Orchestra on Friday, July 13, under the direction of Broadway music director and conductor Andy Einhorn. The concert features selections from Broadway musicals such as Company, My Fair Lady and Guys and Dolls, plus additional favorites by Richard Rodgers, George Gershwin, Frank Loesser and more. After her September 2015 concerts with the Minnesota Orchestra, the Star Tribune called her performances “stunning,” and noted that “versatile Audra McDonald’s star power lights up Orchestra Hall.”

Audra McDonald, soprano
Audra McDonald, winner of a record-breaking six Tony Awards, as well as two Grammy Awards and an Emmy Award, received a 2015 National Medal of Arts and was also named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people that year. Her Tony-winning performances came in productions of Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime, A Raisin in the Sun, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess and Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill. On television, she is known for roles in ABC’s Private Practice and NBC’s The Sound of Music Live!, and she won an Emmy as the official host of PBS’ Live From Lincoln Center. She recently joined the cast of CBS All Access’ The Good Fight for its second season, and released a new solo album, Sing Happy, recorded live with the New York Philharmonic for Decca Gold. Andy Einhorn, conductor
Andy Einhorn is currently the music supervisor and musical director for the Broadway productions of Carousel and Hello Dolly! His previous Broadway credits include productions of Holiday Inn, Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Evita, Brief Encounter, The Light in the Piazza and Sondheim on Sondheim.
