MINNEAPOLIS Anthony Bourdain, internationally renowned chef, author and Emmy-award winning television host, returns to the State Theatre (805 Hennepin Ave., downtown Minneapolis) with his all new live show Close to the Bone. Set for 8 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015, this evening of candid and hysterical stories about his lifes work and travels serves audiences with Bourdains unyielding, brutally honest views on diverse culture, street cuisine and his travels to lesser-known locations around the world. I want to open the book on what Ive learned seeking the road UN-traveled more than I get to show you on television, says Bourdain. The Peabody Award winner is known for interviewing subjects who often reveal deep insights to him about local food, culture and their homeland.

Bourdain is currently filming his Emmy Award-winning CNN original series Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, (Season Five premieres Sunday, April 26 at 8 p.m.), the renowned chef brings audiences a menu loaded with lots of laughs, serious discussions and unapologetic irreverence.

In addition to hosting Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, Bourdain is the chef-at-large at New Yorks famed Brasserie Les Halles and is the acclaimed author of the bestselling titles Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly and Medium Raw, both hilariously blunt and sometimes shocking portraits of life in restaurant kitchens. His writing has been translated into more than 28 different languages, including his 2001 travel journal A Cooks Tour, his three crime novels, a cookbook, a biography of Typhoid Mary, the bestselling graphic novel Get Jiro!, and others. The sequel to Get Jiro!, entitled Get Jiro: Blood and Sushi, will be published in October 2015.

Close to the Bone, An Evening with Anthony Bourdain is set for 8 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the State Theatre (805 Hennepin Ave.). Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2015 and range in price from $60 to $75 depending on seating preference. There are also a limited number of VIP tickets available for $200 which include premier seating, a limited edition tour poster, VIP laminate badge and exclusive access to a post-show meet and greet reception and photo opportunities with Anthony Bourdain.
