Chanhassen Dinner Theatres (CDT) is proud to announce that The Andrew Walesch Big Band will make a premiere appearance as part of Chanhassen Dinner Theatres 2015 Concert Series. 100 Years of Sinatra marks the occasion of Frank Sinatras birth year. Performances are scheduled for March Friday, March 6th and Saturday, March 7th, both at 8pm on Chanhassens Fireside Stage.
Andrew Walesch and his big band, filled with many Twin Cities' big band and jazz legends, will take you through a journey in time to celebrate Frank Sinatra's legendary career and his 100th birthday. One of the most recognizable voices of all time, Frank Sinatra would have turned 100 years old in 2015. The "Chairman of the Board" enjoyed a recording career that spanned from 1935-1995. He sang with the most popular big bands of the '40s. An Academy Award-winner and recipient of 11 Grammy Awards, he sold hundreds of millions of recordings worldwide, and starred in 60 motion pictures. You will hear dozens of favorites including, "That's Life," Nice 'n' Easy," "You Make Me Feel So Young," "Fly Me To The Moon," "New York, New York," "My Way" and many others.
Singer and pianist Andrew Walesch is a new and exciting voice in the national jazz scene. Whether recording jingles, producing shows, composing and arranging, or singing as a solo artist and with big bands all over the country, Andrew is known for his unique approach to The Great American Songbook. He has recorded two albums and has sung and played on the stage of The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and the legendary Chicago Theater. He also has appeared on the nationally syndicated broadcast Mountain Stage on NPR. Andrew is currently working with Grammy Award winning songwriter Jon Vezner on a new project of standards and originals.
Tickets are still remaining for the Friday evening, March 6th event; Saturday evening is sold out.Tickets are $40 with a dinner option available for $15 additional per person.
