THE AMERICAN SWEDISH INSTITUTE LAUDS PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMAS HISTORIC BILATERAL VISIT TO SWEDEN
MINNEAPOLIS, MN- On the eve of U.S. President Barack Obamas historic bilateral visit to Stockholm, Sweden, President and CEO of the American Swedish Institute (ASI) and Consul General of Sweden Bruce Karstadt, issued the following statement:
President Obamas historic trip to Stockholm is a result of the hard work of the American and Swedish diplomatic corps and the strong bond between the United States and Sweden. Also to be commended is Swedish Prime Minister Reinfeldt for extending an invitation, in the true spirit of Nordic cooperation, to the leadership of Swedens neighbors, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland, to participate in this important visit. This trip highlights to the world the true strength of international cooperation, a commitment to environmental sustainability and sharing of tradition and culturetenets we strive to embody every day through the work of the Consulate General of Sweden and the American Swedish Institute.
