Alaska Airlines launches service from MSP to San Diego
Alaska Airlines to offer nonstops between MSP and San Diego
Alaska Airlines will begin nonstop daily service from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to San Diego starting Nov. 18.
The new service, announced Wednesday, continues the airline’s increased presence on the West Coast, including an MSP-San Francisco nonstop starting July 18 that Alaska Airlines announced earlier this year.
“This latest San Diego addition provides more convenience for our customers and increases competition,” said Brian Ryks, the CEO and executive director of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which owns and operates MSP. “We’re pleased that Alaska is continuing to grow at MSP.”
Alaska also currently offers direct flights to Seattle and Portland, Ore., from MSP.
The new San Diego route will be served by 76-seat Embraer 175 jets, which include 12 first-class seats, 12 seats in premium class and 52 seats in the main cabin. The onboard amenities will include Wi-Fi internet access.
