St. Paul, Minn. – March 6, 2019 – Registration for the 38th annual Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon will open to the general public on Thursday, March 7, at 10:00 a.m. CST. The 26.2 mile race, which runs from downtown Minneapolis to the State Capitol grounds in St. Paul, takes place on Sunday, October 6.
Registration for the marathon will be conducted online through the Twin Cities In Motion website, tcmevents.org/marathon. Registration for the largest marathon in Minnesota is currently $108, with prices rising as the event fills. Registration opened last week to members of Twin Cities In Motion’s rewards program at $94, the lowest price in more than decade.
“We’re excited to open public registration for the 2019 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend and begin the journey to an event that involves so much of our community,” Twin Cities In Motion Executive Director Virginia Brophy Achman said. “There was a lot of energy and excitement when we opened registration to our Rewards In Motion members and we expect even more excitement tomorrow.”
Registration for the Medtronic TC Family Events, TC 5K, presented by Fredrikson & Byron, and TC 10K, which take place at the State Capitol grounds on Saturday, October 5, as part of Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend will also open Thursday. The TC Loony and TC Ultra Loony Challenges – where runners participate in the TC 5K and TC 10K prior to running either the 10 mile or marathon the following day – also launch on Thursday.
In a change from recent years, the registration drawing for the Medtronic TC 10 Mile held on October 6 will be open from Wednesday, June 5, to Thursday, June 13, with the drawing itself taking place on Tuesday, June 18.
