2018-2019 Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin Season announced!
MINNEAPOLIS—Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced the Tony Award®-winning lineup for the 2018-2019 Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin season, featuring eight Minnesota premieres and revivals with four returning favorites.
“The Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin season energizes the Twin Cities with the best of Broadway and enriches the community with an outstanding lineup of professional touring productions, which represent a total of 33 Tony Awards,” said Mark Nerenhausen, president and CEO of Hennepin Theatre Trust. “We have a long-standing relationship with Bank of America and share a common goal to make the arts more accessible. With their support, we expect to attract more than 400,000 visitors to downtown Minneapolis next season.”
All shows in the 2018-2019 season will appear at the historic Orpheum Theatre in downtown Minneapolis. Season subscriptions go on sale to the public on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. Current season subscribers can begin renewing their packages now. Nerenhausen said, “We anticipate this will be our most popular season ever, so we are encouraging people to buy their packages as early as possible.”
Making its debut in Minneapolis is HAMILTON, kicking off the season Aug. 29 to Oct. 7, 2018 for a six-week engagement. DEAR EVAN HANSEN, the 2018 Grammy® Award and six-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical, will premiere for two weeks from May 28 to June 9, 2019.

A BRONX TALE brings the 1960s stoops of the Bronx to Minneapolis from Feb. 19 to 24, 2019 with an unforgettable story of loyalty and family. Find out what would happen if Sherlock Holmes and Monty Python had an illegitimate Broadway baby in the hilarious comedy THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG from May 7 to 12, 2019.
Four audience favorites are coming back next season. Back by popular demand, THE BOOK OF MORMON returns for its fourth engagement in Minneapolis from Nov. 6 to 18, 2018. A two-week holiday run of Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of the Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon LES MISÉRABLES playing Dec. 18-30, 2018. Returning Oct. 22 to 27, 2018 is the inspiring true life story of Carole King in BEAUTIFUL – THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL. The 1980s return with Broadway’s best party, the tenth anniversary tour of ROCK OF AGES from Feb. 8 to 10, 2019.
