15,000 people expected to March for Babies at Mall of America®
WHAT: For the first time, 15,000 walkers from nine separate March for Babies events across Minnesota will come together for one unified walk at Mall of America® on Saturday, April 25.
Thousands of families and business leaders will walk in support of the March of Dimes mission of helping moms and babies, with a goal to raise $1 million for community programs, research, education, vaccines and breakthroughs.
In addition to the walk, event activities will include:
- Teddy Bear Clinic: The first 750 kids (age 12 and under) will receive a free teddy bear to bring through the Teddy Bear Clinic in Nordstrom Court. Assisted by nursing students, kids will learn about germs, vaccines and taking a baby home from the hospital.
- Float-a-flower in Nordstrom Pond in memory or in honor of a loved infant.
- Free Family Movie: Theatres at Mall of America® presents a free showing of Despicable Me at 10:30 a.m. along with the Minions characters
Metro Transit will offer free bus and light rail rides from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. for March for Babies participants. Transportation passes can be downloaded online.
