Condé Nast Traveler readers cast hundreds of thousands of votes for the best cities in the U.S. in the 2018 Readers' Choice Awards survey—in fact, we got so much feedback, we had to divide our list in two. Here we honor the country's smaller cities, with populations under one million, and its major hubs, with populations over one million. Is your favorite on the list? Counting down...
14. Minneapolis, MN
Minneapolis is having a banner year: First, it landed on Traveler's 18 Best Places to Go in 2018 list, and now it's back on our readers' beloved big cities list. It helps that it was a high-profile host for Super Bowl LII, but long after football season had come and gone, travelers were still raving about its best attributes: Guthrie Theater. Walker Art Museum. The best parks system in the whole country (data shows!). Thirteen James Beard Award semifinalists. Prince's Paisley Park Museum. And that whole "Minnesota nice" thing that confuses Northeasterners but endears the rest of us to this Midwest must-visit.
