The Cedar Cultural Center is a 35-year-old nonprofit organization that promotes intercultural appreciation and understanding through the presentation of global music and dance. We are committed to artistic excellence and integrity, diversity of programming, and support for emerging artists. The Cedar annually presents about 150 live performances, and in the last three years has featured artists representing 74 different countries from every continent except Antarctica. In addition to music, our main stage programming has included dance, comedy, podcasts, film screenings, and book launches. We curate The Cedar’s Global Roots Series featuring international touring musicians, and the Nordic Roots Series focused on Scandinavian artists showcasing the breadth of contemporary and traditional Nordic music. In the summer we offer a free weekly Summer Plaza series for the general public, featuring both local artists and touring musicians.
