Summer is in full swing. Between block parties with live music, art festivals, and baseball season, there's no shortage of things to do. Here are our picks for the top things to do this July!
1. Music & Movies in the Parks
All month long
Grab a blanket, snacks and good company, and head to Minneapolis' parks for live music and movies. From local bands and orchestras to fan favorite films, like Inside Out and Wicked, there's something on the calendar for everyone.
2. Red, White, and Boom!
July 4
Fourth of July fireworks are back in downtown Minneapolis! Red, White and Boom! will take place on the west side of the river at Water Works and Stone Arch Bridge parking lot. Enjoy live music and food trucks starting at 6 pm. Fireworks are at 10 pm.
3. Taste of Minnesota
July 5-6
Taste of Minnesota is a two-day smorgasbord of food and fun celebrates everything we love about Minnesota: great music, fabulous food, outdoor family fun, a few surprises and really great people-watching!

July 18-20
Minnehaha Falls Park, one of Minneapolis' oldest and most popular parks, features a majestic 53-foot waterfall, limestone bluffs, and river overlooks, attracting more than 850,000 visitors annually. Minnehaha Falls Art Fair will feature approximately 150 artist booths, along with music, crafts, food, and more.
11. Sister Cities Day
July 20
Join us as we celebrate Minneapolis Sister Cities with a FREE Ice Cream Social & gathering at the Nicollet Island Pavilion, Minneapolis. This family event features international entertainment, ice cream and refreshments. The event highlights all of Minneapolis’ International Sister Cities, with a special spotlight this year on the 10th anniversary of our sister city, Bosaso, Somalia.
