Threads Of Us: Weaving Identity and Place
Threads of Us is a portrait and multimedia series documenting how immigrant, diaspora, and Indigenous communities in the Twin Cities carry home with them. Each portrait captures a participant in culturally significant attire, paired with their own recorded reflections on identity, heritage, and belonging.
Join us for the opening reception on Friday, June 19 at The Residency by ModernDay Me in Minneapolis. The evening includes the full portrait exhibition, an interactive community map, a growing word wall where visitors add their own thread to the story, and a listening corner featuring participant audio and video reflections.
This is a free, open-to-the-public event. Light refreshments will be served. The exhibition remains on view through July 18, and an artist panel with the series' contributors on June 27.
