Studio Sessions - Embroidery
In this workshop, inspired by “An Indigenous Art: Huipiles from Mia’s Collection,” join artist Ivonne Yanez for a guided exploration of three different embroidery styles from different regions across Mexico. Throughout the session, Yanez will touch on the weaving practice and use of huipiles, as well as share information about the unique embroidery techniques often used in creating these textiles. You’ll leave class with an embroidered bandana and the skills to continue creating at home.
Note: No previous knowledge is required, but you’ll need good hand dexterity for stitching. All materials are provided.
Tickets available April 30.
