Chef Mateo Mackbee and Pastry Chef Erin Rae are the heart and soul behind Krewe, where the rich traditions of New Orleans cuisine meet the warmth of Midwestern hospitality. Mateo, inspired by summers spent in New Orleans watching his grandfather cook, brings soulful dishes like jambalaya, gumbo, and muffuletta to life, blending farm-fresh ingredients with cherished family recipes. A Bloomington, MN native, Mateo’s passion lies in nourishing both appetites and communities.
Erin, known as New London’s beloved “young pie lady,” has a gift for creating irresistible pastries, from flaky croissants and artisan breads to classic beignets and homemade pies. As the head baker at Flour & Flower, her farm-to-dessert philosophy ensures every bite is a celebration of flavor and craft.
Together, Mateo and Erin have built Krewe as a vibrant gathering place, combining their shared love for food, tradition, and community into an unforgettable dining experience.

It’s 1959, and the musical West Side Story has captured the hearts of America, including the tight-knit Candelaria family who dream of making it big in show business: the siblings take acting and dance lessons, mother Inez works as an usher and father Pepe tours as a bandleader. When an exciting update about a West Side Story film arrives, it is overshadowed by devastating news — their Manhattan tenement apartment is being demolished to build Lincoln Center, and they have 30 days to vacate. Filled with music and dance, this heartfelt family drama explores the tension between pursuing dreams and managing the realities of life.
