Check out Midtown Global Market’s 2nd Annual Authors & Illustrators Book Fair. The Market will be packed with books, authors, and literary fun with a focus on picture books through young adult. Discover new literary characters, meet talented local writers, and support Minnesota’s literary community. The free event gives all the chance to stop by and donate new or gently used books as well. There will also be face painting, storytelling, and amazing food from the restaurants at the Market. Whether you’re a bookworm, aspiring author, or just looking for a fun and unique weekend activity, this is the perfect event. This event is supported by Strive Publishing and Bookstore that aims to inspire community collaboration through publishing stories to heal, teach, learn, and earn, while building an ecosystem that embodies a rich Black culture and heritage.
Each Open Streets Minneapolis event sees a dynamic blend of local businesses, artists, and community groups coming together to infuse the streets with public art, dance performances, pop-up shops, games, and various activities, offering a lively showcase of Minneapolis’ diversity, creativity, and culture. Full of hundreds of vendors, food trucks, business participation, live music, and family activities!

The Minneapolis Food Truck Festival returns for the first time since 2019! More than 40 food trucks will be selling their unique eats and cuisines encompassing the globe. Dishes will range from Maine lobster rolls to shrimp tacos, smoked ribs, gyros & even fro-yo! Food trucks will be lined up on SE Main Street between SE 3rd Ave & 6th Ave SE (North end of Stone Arch Bridge ).
In addition to the mouthwatering variety of food trucks, the festival will include unique experiences on 4 wheels: fashion/clothing trucks, vintage record truck, photo booth truck and something just for the four-legged attendants (did we mention we are dog friendly)?! Other activities include life-size Jenga, mechanical bull, bean bag toss, henna tattoo artists, & more.
You’ll be able to enjoy local cover bands with music rocking all day long.
