Managing our calendars and our work-life balance are things that we each need to take personal responsibility for even though we often feel that we cannot say no to things we are asked to do. As a leader with a great team in place that always finds a way to deliver, I am guilty of piling projects on them because I have such confidence in their abilities to perform. Advancements in technology create an artificial sense of urgency and an unrealistic obligation to respond in our personal and professional lives. And yes, I'm guilty of strongly considering reaching for my phone if it vibrates on the nightstand even after bedtime.
