Where to Watch Soccer in Minneapolis

Alright soccer…ahm…sorry, football fans(?) it’s your time to shine. It can be tough competing with attention of the World Series, the Olympics, the Super Bowl, even the NBA Finals at sports bars, but don't worry Minneapolis has a strong fandom that supports soccer, football, fútbol or whatever you prefer to call it and they’ll have you covered. From big screen TVs, to drink deals, to outdoor patio watching, you’ll always have a place to see all the action.

1. The Local

This Irish bar encourages fans to grab a pint and cheer on their favorite teams. Flags, scarves, jerseys, and team fight songs are most definitely welcome. You’ll find great match-day specials on classic pub foods and drinks. You may also have the opportunity to win some prizes and giveaways.

2. Brit’s Pub

A popular local spot for watching soccer games, Brit’s is known for their big screen on the rooftop where fans can watch games sitting outside on the lawn. If your favorite team isn’t being featured on the big screen there are also TVs and projector screens showing other matches throughout the pub. As for drink specials, they have $4.50 Strongbow, Guinness and Heineken pints, and you’ll find many other cocktail and beer specials to help you celebrate a team win.

3. Part Wolf

Whether you want to watch the games indoors or outdoors, they have you covered with TV screens in the restaurant and out on the patio. This place is passionate about soccer and wants to make sure you get to see every minute of the action. All Minnesota United games are shown here and they are the official bar of the Tottenham Hotspurs. If you’re looking to host a viewing party they offer a private event space for rent.

4. Pancho Villa

This Eat Street restaurant is known for attracting an energetic crowd of soccer fans, especially during major tournaments. Here you can cheer on your favorite team with a fresh side of gauc.

5. La Doña Cervecería

Not only can you watch soccer matches here, but you can also play a quick round yourself. Out on the patio a boxed turf field perfect for letting off some steam after a big win/loss by your favorite team. Either way don't miss out on their cervezas. The brews are a collection inspired by both Latin American and Minnesota culture.

6. City Works

City Works hosts a number of watch parties throughout the year, so they’re very familiar with the soccer crowd. With a wall of TVs near the bar, an open floor plan, and global beers this sounds like the perfect spot to have a drink and watch your favorite sport with fellow fans.

7. Merlins Rest Pub

Get the total pub experience at Merlins Rest. Here they serve all the favorites: Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash, and English Toffee Pudding. The majority of matches are shown live on the big screen and another television within the restaurant. Just walk in, grab a pint and know you are in good soccer-viewing company.

Kieran’s boasts that they are the only official U.S. soccer bar in Minneapolis. So they probably know a thing or two about hosting enthusiastic soccer fans. Seven TVs are available for any match so no matter where you sit you’ll enjoy unobstructed views of your favorite team.  

10. East Village Grill

Here, regular customers are soccer aficionados. Be prepared. You’re going to find people who know their stuff. With many popular Somali food and flavors, East Village Deli will become a favorite place to support your club.
