Whats happening? ITS HAPPENING in the exhibition Claes Oldenburg: The Sixties. Join the Walker Art Center Teen Arts Council (WACTAC) for an evening inspired by the man of the hour: Claes Oldenburg. WACTAC is partnering with local artist Andy Ducett, Radio Ks Those Meddling Kids, and the Canvas youth arts group for an evening of 60s style Happenings, large-scale drawings, dance parties, and an Open Mic Night.

WARNING: These museum interventions may cause fits of laughter, newfound friendships, and a sense of wonder. Dont miss out on this one-night-only event!

Those Meddling Kids, 57 pm

Cargill Lounge
Radio Ks high school DJs Those Meddling Kids will set the mood spinning tracks. Listen to some old favs and discover some new ones.

Dance Parties, 59 pm

Various locations
Dance parties are happening in lobbies and elevators, with turntables and iPods, by the gallery entrance and the janitors closet. Skip the gym but bring your Zumba shoes cause the dance party is on.

Art Happenings with Andy Ducett, 59 pm

Various Locations
The witty and whimsical Andy Ducett joins WACTAC to activate the museum through 60s-style Happenings. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears openits happening.

You Make It, You Take It, 59 pm
Star Tribune Foundation Art Lab
Kick off your Zumba shoes and make yourself a party favor à la Oldenburg.

Open Mic Night, 67 pm

Lecture Room
St. Pauls youth arts group the Canvas crosses the mighty Mississippi to host their monthly Open Mic Night here at the Walker. Take some time to watch talented youths from the Twin Cities share their diverse performance practices. Come early to sign-up to perform!

Collections Zine

Inspired by Claes Oldenburgs collections of ray guns, flags, doodads, and the like, WACTAC has been collecting collections. Take this WACTAC-produced zine home and see whose lone sock collection reigns supreme.
