Railway Interchange receives Minneapolis hospitality award

WASHINGTON, D.C., April 7, 2016 – Railway Interchange, the largest combined railway exhibition and technical conference in North America, was recently named the recipient of the Excellence in Meetings, Events & Conventions Award from the Meet Minneapolis Convention and Visitors Association. Railway Interchange held its 2015 event last Oct. 4-7 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
“The success of the Railway Interchange event helped make 2015 a record-breaking year for the Minneapolis hospitality industry,” said Meet Minneapolis President and CEO Melvin Tennant. “This award recognizes the importance of our partnership with Railway Interchange. We were proud to host the inaugural Railway Interchange in 2011 and are thrilled to be welcoming them back in 2019.”
Railway Supply Institute President Tom Simpson, who accepted the award on behalf of the Railway Interchange host organizations, said, “We are honored to receive this award from Meet Minneapolis. With more than 9,000 registrants, the 2015 event in Minneapolis was our largest since Railway Interchange began in 2011.”
The next Railway Interchange will take place Sept. 17-20, 2017 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Sales of exhibit booth space and exhibition sponsorships will begin in October.

Railway Interchange, first held in 2011, is a biennial trade show and conference hosted by railway industry associations AREMA (American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association), REMSA (Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association), RSI (Railway Supply Institute), and RSSI (Railway Systems Suppliers, Inc.).
