MACYS ANNOUNCES RENOVATION OF
OAK GRILL RESTAURANT AT MACYS DOWNTOWN MINNEAPOLIS
Chicago, IL November 4, 2013 To provide a superior dining experience for its diners and guests, the iconic Oak Grill restaurant at Macys Downtown Minneapolis will undergo its first significant renovation in 50 years, including the addition of new visual elements and new signature dishes. Updates include new carpet, wall coverings, lighting throughout the dining room and iconic signing at the entrance that emphasizes its heritage and commitment to great food and spirits. Design details will also focus on upgrading the lighting of the West Room and the bar which be enhanced new artwork and paint throughout the space. New tabletop details and fresh service elements will be incorporated including stylized oak votive candles, new lighting and chairs, all contributing to the rooms traditions while offering a fresh visual palate to diners of all ages as well as a new presentation of the classic popover.
"We're touching every area of the room from the carpet to the chandeliers keeping in mind that our customers love the traditions we have established over the years. We want our dining room to be welcoming and familiar but fresh and a touch more contemporary," says Warren Wolfe, Group Vice president for Foodservice for Macy's. "Macy's Oak Grill in the downtown Minneapolis store has been a dining icon since 1947. With this being one of most popular flagship dining experiences anywhere, we are adding some of our favorite dishes from around the country which we believe our customers will enjoy and of course retaining all the favorites like our famous popovers, chicken pot pie and holiday traditions."
