G.L. Berg Entertainment Celebrates 25th Anniversary

On July 1, 1989, Gary Berg officially left his position as Assistant to the President and Director of Planning at the College of St. Benedict to follow a dream and become an entrepreneur. He started an entertainment agency from scratch from a tiny office in Waite Park, MN. The purpose of the company was to provide top quality, non-offensive entertainment for people of all ages attending company events, fairs, festivals, colleges, theaters and other special events.

Today G.L. Berg Entertainment has grown to be the largest entertainment provider in the Midwest currently contracting over 2,500 shows annually throughout the United States and the world. The companys main office is in St. Cloud, MN, with satellite offices in Garys original home town of Menomonie, WI, and also one in Minneapolis, MN.

In the 25 years since the company was formed, staff members have written over 23,000 contracts and have provided entertainment in 49 states (still shooting to contract a show in Vermont!) as well as shows in Japan, China, India, Mexico and Canada. They have contracted 580 different performers and speakers during that time and currently exclusively represent 27 professional acts located throughout the country.

Our philosophy today is exactly the same as it was when I started the company 25 years ago. said Berg. We work with all our clients to find the best fit for their unique audiences, spaces, dates, budgets and other special needs. Simply put, we provide entertainment and speakers that work.

Berg continued It is such a wonderful and important thing that people gather and share positive experiences. We get to work with so many companies and fair boards and post grad committees and such a wide range of wonderful people as they plan their special events. We are very fortunate indeed.
