Family Day at Mia
Join us for our free monthly event for families, kids, and the young at heart. On the second Sunday of every month, the museum is filled with hands-on art activities, storytelling, artist demonstrations, gallery hunts, self-guided tours and more — all inspired by Mia’s incredible collection. October 12 | Yo Soy!
Take time this fall to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Mia Family Day! Contribute to a community mosaic in our studios with Semilla Center for Healing and the Arts, learn about Colombian folklore through dance with performances by Colombia Live, experience traditional Aztec drumming and dance with Kalpulli KetzalCoatlicue, and grab lunch at El Jefe food truck. Enjoy short films with the Kid Flicks: ¡Hola Cine! shorts program, co-presented by MSP Film Society’s 13th Cine Latino Film Festival. You don’t want to miss a chance to engage with this vibrant community!
November 9 | Listen Closely
When the temperatures get cooler and the seasons start to turn, spend some time at Mia with Heart of the Beast as they lead an artmaking activity in our studios. Then join them in a puppet parade through the galleries and get ready for Indigenous story time.
December 14 | Celebration
Celebrate the last month of 2025 and the Cambodian bronzes exhibition with a visit to Mia Family Day. We’ll host a metal stamping workshop in our studios with Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center and celebrate Cambodian culture with performances by Wattanak Dance Troupe in Pillsbury Auditorium.
