Here in Minneapolis, friends, fans and musicians join together throughout the year to honor and remember our purple star, Prince.
Prince's Paisley Park announces heightened, "Ultimate Experience" museum tour. The Ultimate Experience ticket price is $160 and includes a specially prepared vegetarian meal at the conclusion of the tour. Offered for a limited time on Mondays beginning August 14.
Prince Night will feature a variety festivities:
- The first 10,000 fans to Target Field will receive a "Purple Rain" umbrella
- Immediately following the seventh inning stretch, fans in possession of the Purple Rain umbrella will remain standing and open the umbrella for a special moment in remembrance of Prince.
- Prince music will be played throughout the ballpark pre-game and in-game.
- Twins players and staff will wear a special Prince themed T-shirt during batting practice.
- The T-shirts will be auctioned off at twinsbaseball.com to benefit Achieve Minneapolis for music grants in Minneapolis Public Schools.
- Students from Minneapolis Public Schools will be singing during the Seventh Inning Stretch.
- Prince-themed Fireworks will take place following the conclusion of the game between the Twins and Cleveland Indians.
The Revolution will Rock the Garden at the Walker Art Center on Saturday, July 22. They will perform a mixture of Prince's top hits and B-sides. Bring your favorite dancing shoes because they will have you movin' and groovin' all night long.
Tuesday, April 18
In honor of Prince's life and legacy, the Minnesota Historical Society will have Prince's iconic Purple Rain suit on display as well as other items from Prince's collection. Available through April 23.
Wednesday, April 19
New Power Generation Member, Shelby J will perform at the Dakota Jazz Club starting at 10pm.
Thursday, April 20
CELEBRATION 2017 will honor and celebrate the life and legacy of Prince, as the world marks the first anniversary of his passing. Bringing together musicians, creative personnel, special guests and friends who worked closest with Prince and knew him best, these four days will feature live music, panel discussions and presentations on Prince’s tremendous talent, influence and importance as a composer, musician, producer, live performer and filmmaker.
Paisley Park has also built a Prince4Ever tribute fence on the property for fans to leave momentos. The fence will be up through April 23, and is currently available to people taking tours of the park.
Many of Prince's musical peers have been known to hang at Bunker's in the North Loop. Jesse Johnson, is an original member of Time and playing a three night stint from April 20 - 23. We have a feeling there will be several purple stars invited to the stage.
Friday, April 21
First Avenue will host the first of two dance parties hosted by DJ Smitty and DJ Rudh - doors at 9, tickets $10 in advance or $15 day of the show. Tickets for the Late Night Dance Parties can be purchased online via the First Avenue website, Etix website, by phone at 1-800-514-3849, and at The Depot Tavern and the Electric Fetus.

Minneapolis Fine Artist, Linda Clayton, is holding a reception to honor the life of Prince through her collection titled, The Prince Series. Clayton listened to Prince's music while composing the series. Headphones will be availabe for visitors to listen to the music that inspired each painting. The unveiling will take place on Friday, April 21 from 6-10pm in studio 404 in the Northrup King Building.
Moodyman, is a veteran producer and DJ of house, funk, and jazz music, and a Detroit legend. He spent the majority of his career sampling Prince music and adopting his writing style in various song titles. After Princed passed last year, Moodyman turned his Detroit home into a pop-up museum, blasting Prince's music from giant speakerboxes, ringing down the block for a month straight, nonstop. This will be his first time spinning records in Minneapolis so let's give him a warm welcome!

Saturday night The Current and First Avenue will host the Memorial Street Party at First Avenue – 7th Street from 5-10pm, free and open to all, registration required. Dance with the family as they Celebrate the Life and Music of our brother Prince in continuing with his tradition of the After Party where we Danced to the Music Until Dawn. The Dance Party begins at 10:30 PM for Early Entry tickets, with Live Music kicking into high gear at Midnight through 4:00 AM.
Sunday, April 23
This dance party is free with online RSVP for kids 17 and under; adults 18 and older may purchase tickets online or at The Depot Tavern. Tickets for adults and the RSVP for kids are available for purchase now and made available online via the First Avenue or Etix websites, and by phone via Etix at 1-800-514-3849. The event begins at 10am and adults must be accompanied by a child.
Commemorating His Purple Reign: A Textural Tribute to Prince. Juried and curated by Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi, this exhibit features the work of 24 quilters from around the nation, including members of the Women of Color Quilting Network.
