Hennepin History Museum hosts a talk & book signing: Fireside Chat: Out of the Blue with Scott Thoma.
Minneapolis, MN, May 1, 2015 The Hennepin History Museum hosts a presentation at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 14th, 2015.
47 years almost to the day after the infamous F5 tornado swept through the town of Tracy on June 13, 1968, journalist and former Tracy resident Scott Thoma will appear at HHM to recount the onset and fallout of one of the most powerful tornadoes to ever hit Minnesota. Thoma experienced the tornado himself, and has also collected many other first-hand accounts of this disaster that killed 9 people and injured many more. Experience the tale of a town torn apart by nature, but held together by the strength of the community.
Books will be available for sale.
Fireside Chats are included FREE with museum admission ($5 for adults, $1 children and seniors, free for HHM members).
Limited free parking available on-street and in our rear parking lot. Pay parking is available in the adjacent MIA lot.
Fully experiencing the museum at the present time requires climbing stairs between floors. We are working hard to provide an elevator in the future to make your museum fully accessible to everyone.
