Ordway Now Seeking Nominations for 2015 Sally Awards
ST. PAUL, Minn. (May 10, 2016) — The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts is now seeking nominations for the 2015 Sally Ordway Irvine Awards. Nominations will be accepted through June 24, 2016. The prestigious Sally Awards, now in their 24th year, provide an opportunity to recognize and honor extraordinary achievements in the arts throughout Minn.
Each year, one individual or organization is honored in each of the following five categories: Vision, Initiative, Commitment, Education and Arts Access. Last year’s winners were American Composers Forum (Vision), Theresa Sweetland (Initiative), Cynthia Gehrig (Commitment), The Steeles (Education) and Edge Center for the Arts (Arts Access).
Nominations for the 2015 awards are being accepted through June 24, 2016. Individuals and organizations from any artistic or cultural field are eligible, as long as their work took place within the state of Minn. Nominees may be artists, professional administrators, volunteers, philanthropists or organizations. Achievements in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion will be highly valued in the selection of award recipients in all five categories.
After all entries have been received, an outside selection committee will review the nominations and select the five award winners, who will be honored at the Sally Awards ceremony at the Ordway on Oct. 17, 2016.
