MINNESOTA ORCHESTRA PRESENTS JURASSIC PARK IN CONCERT Nov. 24 and 25
In concerts on November 24 and 25, the Minnesota Orchestra performs John Williams’ Grammy-nominated score to Jurassic Park, while the complete film is shown on a large screen above the stage at Orchestra Hall. The film follows paleontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) to a secluded island where scientists have revived the age of the dinosaurs in a new, immersive theme park. Released in 1993, Jurassic Park was based on the best-selling novel by Michael Crichton and directed by Steven Spielberg. It remains one of the most successful films ever created, breaking box office records and earning three Academy Awards—for Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects—and launching a film franchise that so far includes five movies. Sarah Hicks, the Minnesota Orchestra’s principal conductor of Live at Orchestra Hall, leads the Minnesota Orchestra in these performances. The concerts are held at Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, November 25, at 2 p.m., with tickets priced from $45 to $110. Tickets are available at minnesotaorchestra.org and by phone at 612-371-5656. For further purchasing details, refer to the information section at the conclusion of this press release.
